This Smart Notebook shows several diagrams and pictures of production of various goods. It asks the students to create thinking maps and summarize the processes. Optional: Use Office365 or GoogleDrive or Pixie to create thinking maps.

How Are They Made? :
This Smart Notebook shows how orange juice, shirts, and pencils are made. The final slide asks students to create a Pixie Flow Map or PowerPoint slide flow map of the way to create a product.

Read the book, "The Real McCoy" by Wendy Towle and use this teacher's guide to help students understand how Elijah McCoy's technology impacted the lives of producers and consumers. Then have students use to create a problem/solution/impact chart.




This online lesson teaches students that new inventions have changed the way we live and work. Students can use this Excel Spreadsheet  Inventions Bring Change (Share through Office365 or Google Forms) or this Pixie Booklet  to show their learning from the lesson.
