Theme Connections

Unit 2 Theme Project:  How do community members work together?

Unit 2 Research Question: 
In this unit, you will read about how community members work together. In order for communities to survive and grow, many different types of people must communicate and cooperate. Your team will need to select one organization from your community to research and prepare a presentation that informs your peers about how your organization helps your community. Each group will share their presentation at a town hall meeting in your class. After the town hall meeting, each group will create an award to present to the people and organizations who serve your community .



1. Work with your team to identify and describe the people who work in your community. Select one organization that your group will continue to research.

2.  Gather information from print, digital resources or first person interviews to explain how your organization is important to the community.

3.  Prepare a presentation for your town hall meeting. You may use SMART Notebook, Pixie, Power Point, podcasts or video to present to your classmates at the meeting.
