Science/Social Studies Social Studies SS 1.C.1 - Describe the roles, rights, and responsibilities of being a member of the family and school. SS 6.B.1- Compose oral, or written, and visual presentations that express personal ideas, inform, and persuade. SS 6.B.2- Locate, retrieve, and use information from various sources to accomplish a purpose. SS 6.G.1.b- Plan and engage in school and community events such as a mock election, playground clean-up, writing letters to community officials, and fund-raising for a cause. Science NGSS K-2-ETS1-1- Ask questions, make observations, and gather information about a situation people want to change to define a simple problem that can be solved through the development of a new or improved object or tool. NGSS ETS1-B- Designs can be conveyed through sketches, drawings, or physical models. These representations are useful in communicating ideas for a problem's solutions to other people. NGSS ETS1-C- Optimizing the design solution. Because there is always more than one possible solution to a problem, it is useful to compare and test designs. NGSS Crosscutting Concept 2: Events have causes that generate observable patterns.
